Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 7 June 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Gather Ummah website at https://gatherummah.com and any related services (together, the "Platform").
The Platform is operated by Adroitsols Nexus Ltd ("Gather Ummah", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15241552, with a contact address at 48 Hassall Avenue, Manchester, England, M20 1DX. You can reach us at privacy@gatherummah.com.
By accessing the Platform, creating an account, submitting an event, or RSVPing to an event, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. What Gather Ummah is
Gather Ummah is a free community noticeboard that lists Muslim community events across the UK — such as lectures, fundraisers, sisters' programmes, family gatherings, funerals, marriage events, and online events.
We are a listings platform, not the organiser of the events listed. Events are submitted and run by third parties (mosques, charities, community groups and individuals). We do not host, manage, fund, supervise or take responsibility for any event, and listing an event does not mean we endorse it, its organiser, its speakers or its content.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or submit an event. By creating an account or submitting an event you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at privacy@gatherummah.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You do not need an account to browse events or to RSVP. You must create an account and complete profile setup before submitting an event. When you register, you must agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You may choose an individual profile (for community members and small groups) or a masjid / organisation profile. Organisation profiles must use an organisation email address (not a personal webmail provider). We review organisation applications before showing a verified badge; approval is at our discretion and does not mean we endorse the organisation or its events.
3. Submitting events
When you submit an event you confirm that:
- you have the authority to publicise the event and the details you provide;
- the information is accurate, lawful and not misleading;
- you have permission to use any images, logos or text you upload, and they do not infringe anyone else's rights;
- the event and its content are lawful and consistent with the Acceptable Use rules in Section 5.
We review and may edit, categorise, decline or remove any submission at our discretion, but we are not obliged to review submissions and do not guarantee that any event will be published or remain published. We may also correct obvious errors (for example, formatting or spelling) without changing the meaning.
4. Your content and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of the content you submit (event descriptions, images, organisation details and similar — "Your Content").
By submitting Your Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and display) and share Your Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform — including showing it on the website, in category and city pages, on our blog, and in social-sharing previews (for example, WhatsApp and X share links).
This licence continues for as long as Your Content is on the Platform and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and operational records. You can ask us to remove Your Content at any time (see Section 11).
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Platform to submit, post or share anything that:
- is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that incites violence or discrimination;
- promotes an event that is unsafe, unlawful, or intended to deceive;
- infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any person;
- contains malware, or attempts to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or its data;
- impersonates any person or organisation, or misrepresents your affiliation;
- is spam, or uses the Platform to harvest others' personal data;
- collects or scrapes data from the Platform by automated means without our written permission.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
6. RSVPs
RSVPing helps show interest in an event. An RSVP is an expression of interest, not a ticket or a guaranteed place.
We store your name and email when you RSVP so we can record attendance and prevent duplicate RSVPs. Organisers see only the RSVP count and attendee names on the listing, not your email, unless you opt in to hear about their future events.
If you opt in, the organiser may send you announcement emails about their upcoming events via Gather Ummah. Each email includes an unsubscribe link. Organisers are responsible for lawful content; we may suspend accounts that misuse email. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
Events may be cancelled, rescheduled or full, and that is the organiser's responsibility, not ours.
7. Disclaimers
The Platform and all listings are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about:
- the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any event listing or other content;
- whether any event will take place, be safe, be suitable, or meet your expectations;
- the conduct, statements, speakers or content of any organiser or event;
- uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Platform.
You attend events at your own risk. You should verify event details (date, time, venue, cost, suitability — including for children) directly with the organiser before attending or relying on a listing.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform, from any event you attend or organise, or from your dealings with any organiser or other user;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of goodwill; and
- our total liability to you for any claim connected with the Platform will not exceed £100, reflecting that the Platform is provided free of charge.
9. Indemnity
If you submit an event or other content, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable losses, costs and claims we suffer because Your Content, your event, or your use of the Platform breached these Terms or infringed someone else's rights.
10. Intellectual property in the Platform
The Gather Ummah name, logo, design, text and software (excluding Your Content and third-party content) belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them without our permission, except for normal personal use of the Platform.
11. Removing content and closing your account
You can ask us to remove an event or other content, or to close your account, by contacting privacy@gatherummah.com. We aim to action reasonable requests promptly. We may keep some information after removal where we need to for legal or operational reasons (see our Privacy Policy).
We may also suspend, remove or restrict access to the Platform, any listing, or any account at our discretion — for example, to comply with the law, protect users, or enforce these Terms.
12. Third-party links
The Platform contains links to third-party websites and social platforms (such as organiser websites, WhatsApp and X). Some event pages may also show embedded maps or other third-party content. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those sites or services.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes may be highlighted on the Platform. Continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute connected with them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
